VISUAL DEVELOPMENT
The client was looking for different realistic approaches to a Mediterranean beach snack bar for an upcoming animated commercial for Trina, a popular soft orange drink in Spain and Portugal, part of the Schweppes group (which in turn belongs to Suntory Limited). These animated commercials feature a recurring cast of fruit characters throughout the series.
The first step was to find and develop an approved visual reference to use as a starting point. Several different architectural styles were then explored and developed to help determine the final design and camera placement. After that, a camera test was created and populated with the selected visual styles and details. A terrain map for the background was also added to provide the studio’s 3D artists with a clear guide for the final environment.
FINAL RESULT
Finally, after a pre-production meeting with the client, the final version of the animated commercial was animated and rendered by the team at The Frank Barton Company—incredibly talented and genuinely lovely people.
